the problem with baseball is good teams still lose around 70 times and win around 92 times. add in juice and not covering -1.5 and it is tough as hell.
It's 162 games in a season you need a bankroll to sustain the whole season and make a profit. If you are a favorite player that pain will hurt. Hope this helps. Along the way you have to hit dogs to be profitable
there are still some travel, sched, bullpen rest, starters velo charts, late season 15% innnngs increase rule, shadows, umps , angles and trends to factor in.
but yeah mostly just punch #s into models and filter out for Games with a slight +expected value on home dogs
