Seriously - why ?
10k+ for a “signature” model.
1500 for a base model
WHY ?!?
For reference a decent quality made in China model should sell for $350-500. There are plenty of models more in line with what’s being offered here that sell for around $200.
I get custom instruments and 10k isn’t outrageous when you’re talking something well built by a major manufacturer. Gibson Custom shop usually sell new for about 7-9k (but resale on used can easily drop that by 30-50%) - boutique builders charge even more (and the resale is even worse on many) - but these are just poorly made Chinese junk.
Isn’t this the man who is supposed to be instituting tariffs on these products ? Why is he saying let’s tax the hell out of them (a position I don’t disagree with BTW) and then licensing his image to their makers ? And why the hell is he even selling instruments he has given no indication he knows the slightest thing about ? At least selling bibles - he was targeting a demographic he was popular with. It’s not like there’s a strong demand for people taking up guitar these days and those that do play professionally tend to lean left.
