I will say NBA is actually the best sport all star break. I barely watch 5 minutes of NBA a night, but I;ll watch the skills competition and all star game

then go back to not watching until playoffs

Yes, without a doubt. It’s just stupid now. I’d rather watch a competitive game at the park. I haven’t watched for the last three years now, and I don’t miss it at all; at least, not in its present form.

It used to be a beautiful thing. The NBA all-star game was the best players in the world, playing to win. The ultimate pick-up game. Defence mattered, because the players didn’t want to lose; hell, they didn’t want to get scored on. Now they’re giving away points like water at a restaurant. Anthony Davis’ new record (and MVP) should come with an asterisk; when Wilt scored 42, people were actually trying to stop him.

As a basketball purist, the game as it is now makes me ill.
