The White Sox have a significant advantage today with starting pitching. Lucas Giolito owns a 2.43 ERA over his last 6 starts with 43 strikeouts through 37 innings. Both teams have been equally disappointing this year.

St. Louis throws out Steven Matz 5.02 ERA & a 1.60 WHIP. He has been moderately effective as a relief pitcher, but as a starter he has struggled & this is the situation today for him. I guess the Cardinals continue to give him opportunities to be a starter because they are paying him $11 million dollars a year.

Take the White Sox on the ML or RL & good luck if you tail .

Steven Matz pitching his best game so far this year so much for the main reason to bet this game. If this game wins it will just be categorized for me as positive variance if the bullpen blows it later for the Cards, bad pick .

Something I missed here that I should’ve considered. St. Louis is 17-8 on the RL as a road dog, as opposed to Chicago 11-11 on the RL as a home favorite. Learning lesson here for me, will always check this next time & it will have to be a neutral or favorable seasonal trend for my wager.

One could look at that trend for Cardinals and think to buck it instinctively
