If there is a team willing to pay Wilson more than $37M for the next 2 seasons the Broncos are willing to let that team have him. If no-one values him that highly the smart move is for the Broncos to cut him. If he is cut the Broncos will have to pay him his $39M guaranteed salary for 2024. Wilson would then be a FA. There is an offset in Wilson's contract with the Broncos that allows the Broncos to claw back what they can of the £39M exit fee from any money Wilson earns with another NFL team. Effectively Wilson would have to play 2024 for free. His best way around that would be to sign a guaranteed 2-year contract, (maybe $30M), with league minimum salary in year 1 and the remaining $28.8M in year 2. Finding a team willing to do that is also unlikely.

My guess is that Wilson will be cut and will find media for 2024 with a view to returning in 2025.

If he sits and then returns he'll be 36.... Best case is he'd be a backup somewhere.
