Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports that the wide receiver convinced the 49ers to turn down a trade offer from the Browns that would have included Amari Cooper, a second-round pick, and a fifth-round pick.

If the 49’ers and Aiyuk are smart, they’d work something out - at least for this year. He’d languish in Cleveland or Washington…..

Browns was Cooper and a 2nd rounder - SF was onboard but Aiyuk demanding Pittsburgh - wants to play for Tomlin and be #1 option.

Personally as a Cleveland fan I’m happy - let him be a distraction to the enemy. Cooper - Aiyuk next season production wise is a push - yes, they would have Aiyuk longer - but that cuts both ways. Talented but with an attitude that exceeds that talent.

Plenty of good WR out there for less - I wouldn’t pay this guys demands.
