  • Monday's slate may have a robust 13 games, but there aren't many solid steaming candidates for fantasy purposes, so it's best to play it conservative and fortify pitching later in the week. In these instances, looking for available closers to pad saves is a safe approach. The Pittsburgh Pirates are in Wrigley Field against Wade Miley and the Chicago Cubs. Pirates closer Davis Bednar (46% rostered in ESPN leagues) is a great addition with six saves and 25 strikeouts through 17 innings. In Arlington, the Texas Rangers host the Los Angeles Angels. Joe Barlow (39%) has emerged as the Rangers closer with six saves and 14 punch outs in 11 1/3 frames.
  • While Yoan Moncada has helped the White Sox struggling offense, Chicago's lineup is still sporting a below average wOBA, setting Brad Keller (24%) up as a Monday streamer for the Kansas City Royals. Keller is coming off a rough outing in Arlington, but he's posted four quality starts in his past six efforts.
  • Zach Logue (1%) has provided a welcome boost to an injury-riddled Oakland Athleticsrotation. Last time out, Logue fanned six with no walks over seven frames on the road in Detroit. On Monday, he draws a Minnesota Twins lineup scoring the eighth-fewest runs per game over the past week. Logue is a viable spot starter for those willing to roll the dice.
  • It was only a matter of time before the Boston Red Sox lineup got in gear as they've led the major in runs over the past week and now, they head home to a warm Fenway Park. The crux of their offense is clearly unavailable in ESPN leagues, but there are some options to get a piece of a potent offense, including Christian Vazquez (41%), Bobby Dalbec (10%) and Jackie Bradley Jr. (2%). It's also worth checking to see if Enrique Hernandez (67%) was dropped in your league.

Lowe is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Tigers, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Spin:After being a late scratch ahead of Saturday's 5-1 loss to the Blue Jays due to an unspecified injury or illness, Lowe checked back into the lineup for Sunday's series finale and went 1-for-4 with a run scored. However, Lowe was used as a designated hitter in that contest rather than his usual spot at second base, implying that he wasn't fully healthy. Lowe is back on the bench Monday for the second time in three days, but the Rays haven't suggested he experienced any sort of setback following Sunday's 3-0 win. Even so, fantasy managers in shallower leagues in particular may be enticed to turn to other options this week, especially with the knowledge that Lowe will start in only five games at a maximum.

Kepler is out of the lineup for Monday's game in Oakland.
Spin:The Twins will deploy a righty-heavy lineup to counter Athletics southpaw Zach Logue, ending a streak of 10 consecutive starts for the lefty-hitting Kepler, who turned in a .606 OPS over that stretch. Gilberto Celestino will replace Kepler in right field.

Judge will get the day off Monday in Baltimore.
Spin:Judge sits for the first time in the month of May. He owns a 1.059 OPS for the month thus far, improving on his already excellent .961 OPS from April. Giancarlo Stanton will handle right field Monday as DJ LeMahieu serves as the designated hitter.

Acuna (groin) isn't starting Monday against the Brewers.
Spin:Acuna underwent an MRI over the weekend that came back clean and remains day-to-day for now, but he'll be out of the lineup for a fifth consecutive game. Travis Demeritte will shift to right field while Orlando Arcia enters the lineup as the designated hitter Monday.

Manager Craig Counsell said Monday that Adames (ankle) could require a trip to the injured list, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.
Spin:Adames underwent X-rays that came back negative Sunday, but he's still feeling sore and will visit with team doctors Monday night. He's out of the lineup for Monday's game against Atlanta, but the team could choose to give him additional time to recover. If Adames requires a trip to the injured list, Luis Urias and Mike Brosseau would likely see additional time at shortstop, while Pablo Reyes would be a candidate to join the major-league roster.

Gurriel will sit Monday against the Mariners.
Spin:Gurriel sits for just the third time this season. He's struggled to a .230/.277/.341 slash line through 35 games. Raimel Tapia will take over in left field Monday.

Frazier will sit Monday against the Blue Jays.
Spin:Frazier off day comes against lefty Yusei Kikuchi, but he doesn't appear to be at risk of slipping into a platoon role. He'd started against six of the nine southpaws Seattle faced prior to Monday's contest. Abraham Toro will take over at second base in his absence.
