What was the greatest bet you never made?

Inspired by G-Man Grand National winner tip, which I wanted to bet on but I didn't, and by a poll on the Guardian web site: what is your best bet that could have paid big and that you didn't made?

Wanted to back Greece to win Euro 2004 E/W @ 250/1 + but never did :-(

I told my sister that Mon Mome was the best each way bet in the 2009 Grand National, but neither of us backed him. We were put off by his price, and he won at 100-1.

I said at the start of the football season this year that i fancied Liverpool and Ateltico Madrid to both win their domestic leagues and very nearly put the double on ! :-(

I hope they dont, would have an amazing priced double

Mon Mome in the 2009 Grand National for me as well. Backed him in the 2008 race and intended backing him again in 2009 (he was ante-post favourite for the race in December 2008). His form took a nosedive after a poor run in the 2008 Welsh Grand National, however, and so did my confidence in him!
