I am actually very curious about this. Are you guys trying to win lunch money? Pay rent? Financial security? Entertainment?

Me? I want to "win" the game, be the best goddamn gambler ever. Am I? no. Could I be? MAYBE,,,its why I gamble

Mine is entertainment first and making money second. It's the only reason I keep doing it when I'm losing because I gamble mostly to make the games more interesting when I have action on them.

i completely agree

this is the only form of entertainment that you could spend $50 and get $45 back

go to the movies and spend $50, ok you watched a movie

spend $50 on gambling ok thats basically watching a movie but you have a chance to win it back

you could make money by watching this sports betting movie

My goal is to win handicapping contests that I compete in. I tried for years to beat the books and realized that I could beat others much more easily. The thrill of winning is the same as winning a bet against the books. I just get to do it more often in handicapping contests.

That's weird. I had you pegged as a sharp in futures

I tend to think I have a great idea on how poster's do judging by what they post. this is my biggest surprise.

I still love futures but i cant parlay regular season wins, series prices and division titles like I used to with 5Dimes anymore. I still do them but its just not as profitable without parlays. I won Boston to have the most regular season wins(4-1) and it was one of the easiest bets I've ever won. I never had to sweat it after Christmas. So I did have to change my mentality a little bit when my source of making these bets disappeared. But I still look at futures markets in MLB, NFL, and NBA. I currently have +325 on the Guardians/Indians to win the division. Minnesota was a huge favorite.

yea bro, heres the thing...its weird how you know by seeing a posters post year after year at what they can win at. i dont know your lifetime futures but you gotta be ahead...now raise stakes year after year and you should be doing very well.

i assume for you since there isnt day to day action you need some action and lose along the way

it would be nice if we had long time posters betting our plays (WITH GOOD INTENTIONS).

there is no way you should be contests only

My gambling goal? I'd say last 18-20 months I have been just fukking around and blacking out on my days off and stopped taking it serious cuz I just thought I was the shit like that. Had a couple runs but mostly just made bad guesses if I am being honest.

After last weekend though I knew when I woke up Sunday that was the end of that, as far as my substance abuse issues with marijuana and alcohol. Knew this week was going to be hell. Coming off weed isn't like black tar but when you develop a dependency detoxing off THC is a mfer.

Now though? Time to get focused back up and quit fukking around.

Like I realized sometime last night that "Bro, you did this for a living for a couple years, you lived in Vegas, what happened to that dude?" Totally forgot who I was.

Futures helped keep me away from the day to betting. That’s another reason I like handicapping contests. You know how hard it is to win and the more you do it the more you lose. I would think only 5% of gamblers are profitable bettors daily or high volume. I learned a long time ago that I love the action but I have to limit my risk. I think I’m better by being more choosy on what I bet on and how often I bet. There is a correlation to the fewer well thought out bets are better than betting for the thrill and just to have action. You really find out where you stand when you are all betting the same lines and where you are as a gambler.
