Snell has always been good dating back to his days with Tampa. The only thing with him was they never allowed him to pitch too many innings and it was frustrating to watch. Now he has blossomed into arguably the best pitcher in the National League. It was between him and Spencer Strider but I think last nights performance probably gives Snell the Cy Young.

marlins and rays love to give away their best players before they even hit their prime. i once had an mlb-show season with the marlins and i brought back all the players they got rid of and the team was packed. this even without jose fernandez

i dont know if its desperate its the owners decisions right? like the redskins guy who wanted to win and overpaid guys for decades
i bet if you went back just 3 years and put snell and some other guys on that TB roster right now they would be +150 to win it all which is nuts for baseball

This was due to the Rays relying too heavily on analytics. Basically they didn't want their pitchers going through the lineup for the third time which meant around the fifth or sixth inning they pulled their starter even if he was throwing well. This happened in the World Series with Snell and burned the Rays in that game because the bullpen blew it.
