Jack Del Rio made comments on Twitter about the Capitol Hill Riots Hearings.

"Would love to understand 'the whole story' about why the summer of riots, looting, burning and the destruction of personal property is never discussed but this is ???"

"People's livelihoods are being destroyed, businesses are being burned down, no problem," Del Rio said at the time. "And then we have a dust-up at the Capitol, nothing burned down, and we're going to make that a major deal. I just think it's kind of two standards."

I think he got into trouble when he tried claming the BLM stuff was egregious yet stated the January 6th insurrection was only a "dust-up". Making that comparison pissed a few people off. Both were bad.

Remember NFL is 58% African American. The NFL has to keep its players "happy". Also, there are restrictions on NFL coaches and players, in their contracts, about creating controversy and a bad image for the NFL.

They have free speech, but they also have restrictions if they want to work in the NFL.
