Lame rule. Fans would like to see a 2 way player, even if it is a mop up guy.

I think the players association pushed for it, because more and more position players were getting called into pitching duty, which increases risk of injury. think jose canseco UCL injury

They probably have a guy on each team full time just to know all this crap.
