I’m sure everyone remembers where they were and how it made them feel

I remember being on the bed chatting with my girl about plans we had that day when Kobe’s photo came up with two years and a dash between them

We had the sound in mute. It took me about 10 seconds to process what was happening before I told her “I think Kobe’s dead” and we turned the sound on and watch what unfolded in disbelief

Crazy the way that story unfolded too.

Just about as fukking tragic as it can get when it didn't have to happen.

We thought Kobe was amazing with what he did, but he was just getting started. He was doing great things and life after the court was going to be impactful.

I wish he could have seen Caitlyn Clark make her run, with all that hype and rise in popularity, I bet he would have been proud.

Fukkin sucks what happened on that hillside.

Yes would have been great to see Kobe at a game watching Caitlyn with his daughters

It was one of those things that was totally difficult to process and believe it was true

You just hoped upon all hope it wasn’t true.

Went through the stages of denial to acceptance

Especially the way it unfolded. There wer pictures released, who was on the helicpoter at the time? Witnesses saying things, the fog, etc.

So many questions and then there was just the reality.

Yeah seems like just yesterday poster Goatmilk at SBR was comparing Kobe's passing to 9-11.

lol
Obviously silly to compare to 9/11 (nation shut down for a week because of largest terrorist attack on US soil in history - coverage on every cable channel for 24 hours or more, etc) but I know what he means.

Every generation will have 3/4 monumental things that happen during their lifetime they will always remember where they were, how the news made them feel, etc

My parents generation had the Kennedy assassination and the moon landing

My generation had the challenger explosion, 9/11 and if you’re as big a sports fans as many of us here are - the Len Bias death and Kobe
