One of the few changes of late Trump has made I completely agree with.
In short - prior to this order - schools were told that NIL money must be proportionaly split between men’s and women’s sports. So if you want to give that hotshot QB recruit a couple of million - be prepared to pay a swimmer, volleyball player or softball player some big bucks too.
Now schools are free to spend what they want - where they want - just like every consumer/sports fan. Imagine if you had to attend a WNBA game and pay the same price per ticket to attend a NFL game for example. The logic just isn’t there - if enough people want the product - they will buy it. Women’s sports is gaining momentum- no need to mandate “separate but equal” - let them stand on their own.
