Thoughts on UFC 272?

ok, in the co-main and main events in general, i have a couple things to say.

first, Moicano is a freaking tank with a heart of gold. he got his face beat to a bloody mess, and STILL lasted the full 5 rounds on short notice. mad respect for him now. the co-main was also a reminder of how amazing and skilled RDA is as a fighter

now the main event. I was so hyped for this main between colby and masvidal, but at times i was sitting there like "this is boring now", but of course there were some exciting moments like when Masvidal dropped Colby in the 4th?? why didn't he take advantage of that?? idk, i have mixed emotions about the main event. Colby overall had a dominant performance and i was happy with the outcome

Overall Le - I should have listened to you about Covington and about both fights going to decisions, other than that Covington deserved the decision just because his clearly was less tired at end of each round and was wearing Masvidal down with wrestling.

If the fight could have gone past 5 rounds who knows...because unless someone gets knocked out it won't be an undisputed win...if it could have gone past 5 either Covington wears Masvidal down to where he can't escape a submission hold or Covington gets knocked out - I don't see Covington being able to knock out Masvidal.

I don't agree that Covington beat Masvidal striking, sure conviction landed more and threw more, but only one guy got knocked down by strikes - and that was Covington even through he recovered.

Not sure why Masvidal didn't capitalize when he stunned Covington, but I think he was tired and playing it safe whole fight so he missed that opportunity.

tuesday i should've listened to myself about both the co-main and main going to a decision cause i took RDA itd moicano is a beast.

i feel like Colby for some reason didn't want to finish Masvidal, i he could if he wanted to but he was just wearing him down with his wrestling. But i agree if it was a KO fight, Masvidal would probably KO Coly first.

Totally, but Covington recovered nicely and the way Covington recovered still having this hands up covering his face, I think contributed to Masvidal hesitating and ultimately missing his chance

As much as a loudmouth Covington is, have to admire the way he recovered from that, he is skilled for sure.
