It’s a fine line between censorship and maintaining a standard.

Overall - BMR does a nice job.

You have seen the shit show other forums have became - allowing idiot posters to run wild or the opposite extreme of banning anyone who doesn’t agree with a certain mod on a power trip.

Nothjng wrong with supporting posters you agree with or presenting opposing vantage points in a capping thread in my opinion - but bashing openly is not constructive or conducive to the environment.

I did not see the post in question - so can’t comment on my feel of how it was presented - just stating my opinion on what many consider acceptable vs unnecessary.

Overall - I agree. If it’s not a personal attack or outright offensive- I’d agree.

Hell - plenty of people get triggered for example when you mention certain politicians - but we see them discussed often here. I have no issues with them - it’s the extremism that gets annoying.

Just remember - with any forum - there is no absolute “freedom of speech” - it’s all in the eyes of the owner/mod. You’re free to start your own place - but the goal of a forum is attract as many people as possible to increase eyeballs and advertising. Hard to keep people around when you let bashing run wild or ban anyone who doesn’t share a viewpoint - hence the reason BMR is here and growing vs other places who have shrank to nothing.
