Way too early brief analysis of teams favored to clash to go to SB

Eagles offense (with Hurts playing so like he’s still dinged up) didn’t look like one who could go into a building like Detroit and outscore the Lions

Philly might need a special performance from its defense, where they really get to Goff and rattle him like we’ve seen in some of his worst performances over the years

Not sure how they’ve done it with all the injuries to their defense but Detroit’s D keeps performing at a high level.

I think they will keep playing just well enough for Detroit to get to its first Super Bowl in team history

What would you guess the line to be? I’m thinking 1-2 pts max assuming nothing weird happens next weekend in division games
That sounds about right. Of course both have games to play still. Injuries ? How they perform ? Will adjust that number as well

Detroit -3 or less and i love the play over Philly ( Unless they gift me a 45 pt Over  )

Assuming this matchup happens, I wonder if Philly will change something to offset Hurts' limitations.

PHI ran the ball well vs GB. Green Bay was the #3 rush-D on EPA basis and the Eagles rushed for 169 yards vs a team that was only giving up 100 ypg on the season. PHI did very well vs a good rush-D.

Detroit rush-D was #12 on the season but over the last 4 weeks of the year they were #24 rush-D on EPA basis. Might be due to some injuries but still there is potential for running the ball instead of depending upon Hurts.

Just a recap of the last meeting between Philly/Rams , won 37 - 20 for Philly ( Nov 24th @ LA ) :

Total yds : Rushing yds :

Philly 481 Philly 314
LA 290 LA 92

Hurts was only 15/22 for 179 yds
Stafford a decent 24/36 for 243 yds

Stafford was playing catch up all game , so the passing yardage was by necessity. Hurts clearly wasnt needed by air , as they dominated the line of scrimmage.
I think the LA Defence has improved a fair bit in the past 6 weeks , but Philly's D is next level , although Dean will be missed. Can LA find a way to stop the run this time around ? If not , it should be another one sided affair , and as Tanko stated , they wont need to rely on Hurts as much.

Wish I could add to previous post

Hate to go ESPN analysis here, but Rams have the far superior coach and do have the better QB as well

Their defense is playing at a high level. Philly will get some rushing yards cuz it’s Philly, but hard to see them doing much in the air

Big adv for Philly is the home field/game conditions. Hopefully Rams have figured out how to play in cold by now

Not sure how Rams-Philly will play out but I could see Stafford laying an egg in the cold

Even those numbers are deceptive.

He didn't complete a pass for 90 minutes. Think about that.

And his #1 receiver is reading a book mid game to draw attention to himself when he's having a bad game

Talented team, but they have some weird vibes going on and aren't well-coached
