Word is the remaining Steinbrenner doesn't even really want to own the team and doesn't want anything to do with running it, so it is functionally Cashman's organization.

Not sure if he wants out but apparently doesn't want to be involved, in which case he should want out. It's like an asset he fell into and doesn't want but doesn't want to get rid of either, or something. Apparently he is uncomfortable with making any sort of personnel decisions or dealing with people at all. I'd feel bad for him if it wasn't so stupid.

I grew up a Yankees fan. Gambling broke me of fandom really, but blows my mind how long Cashman has been able to stick around despite middling results
