This name for the NHL's newest team has to be one of most unique in all of sports.

According to the team website, the name originated from the Giant Pacific Octopus which lives in the waters of Puget Sound near Seattle. “The Kraken represents the fiercest beast in all the world,” the team's website reads.

Love the name. Although I'm not a fan of the crazy city Seattle these days.

Wonder if they are getting the same deal as Vegas to build a new team, or if the Vegas success will mean they don't get it so good.
