Whether you’re listening on SirusXM like me most of the time, iHeart, the good old fashioned radio or whatever, who’s the one singer or band you never, ever change the channel when you hear one of their songs?

For me believe it or not it’s:

INXS

Absolutely love this band who’s lifespan was unfortunately cut short when lead singer Michael Hutchence died by suicide in the 90s

Enjoy every one of there songs. Even ones I’m not familiar with I’ve literally never turned one off

There would be quite a few that come close. But in each instance there are one or two songs of theirs I’m not that fond of

ie Eagles/Henley, New Order, Leonard Cohen, The Cure, Gordon Lightfoot, Erasure, Pet Shop Boys, Notorious BIG, Beatles, Elvis and quite a few others that come close if I really thought about it

I’m not too familiar with this band by name. I’ll have to look them up on YouTube. We do share similar music interest so I’ll probably like them.

👍🍺

Pretty seemingly odd choice, but I get it. My little dive bar cover band does “Don’t Change” and “Devil Inside” on Halloween - both are always crowd pleasers, and you very rarely see any other band play those…..

And I’m a huge music fan and enjoy many genres, and INXS isn’t necessarily my favorite all time band or performer, but for whatever reason I’ve never heard anything of theirs I don’t really, really enjoy.

Obviously bands like this one, Nirvana, etc that had singers die young where their catalog doesn’t go on for decades, have a better chance of never having a song I don’t like if that makes sense.

INXS is a great example of an overlooked 80s band - between having to hang it up early and having the misfortune of coming to prominence at a time dominated by some truly mediocre stuff, they get overlooked and don’t get attention from people who weren’t familiar with their prime.

Bands I wouldn’t turn the channel on - no matter the song…tough one. The problem is if you had a relatively long career - you probably made a song or two that just sucked. Take a band like Zeppelin - as great as I think Zep II remains - there were also some songs that were just meh in my opinion. D’yer Maker for example - decent I guess, but not exactly what I think of as classic Zep.

Beatles made quite a few substandard songs for one reason or another. Again, the band itself superior - but some shit like Yellow Submarine is just not on that level.

So many of the 90s bands only had a couple of albums so finding only great songs with them is easier. The Screaming Trees come to mind, STP was pretty good and Sponge had some solid albums in the same vein.
