It is March Madness, and we should rightly be talking about all sorts of college basketball, which we are. We also have fascinating news from the NBA from Thursday.

Would you bet on fixed outcomes? The WWE wants you to, which you can read about. This and a PGA pro sees scores balloon, more bad news for the New York Yankees and so much more!

About Last Night…

NCAAB

Though not a marquee matchup, Xavier was more disinterested than a five-year served a plate of cauliflower and was down nine points to DePaul at the half as 12.5-point favorites. The Musketeers were still trailing by 5 with just under four minutes remaining but they closed 14-5 to escape. The crazy part was DePaul shot over 61% and lost and that was noteworthy.

Top-seeded UCLA was up just a point with a little over seven minutes left versus Colorado and Bruins backers holding tickets that said -9 or -9.5 were getting nervous. UCLA went to another gear and closed 21-11 to win and cover.

If you do research for picking games, TCU beating Kansas State had you pulling out your hair. Going into the game, the Horned Frogs were two-point favorites and were ranked 350th in 3-point shooting percentage and K-State was 16th in stopping the three-ball.

With three minutes in the game and TCU up 12 points, they were 11 for 22 from behind the arc (they averaged 5 made 3s) and were draining deep shots like a team full of Steph Curry's. Sometimes fate steps in and you are powerless if you had the points with the Wildcats.

NBA

With last night’s victory over New York, Sacramento moves into a 2nd place tie in the West. That 122-117 triumph as two-point home favorites gives them the tiebreaker over Memphis, and this is the latest in the season the Kings have been a No. 2 seed in 19 years. Sacramento also accomplished this last night.

With Brooklyn head coach Jacque Vaughn frustrated with his starters and having a game Friday when down 24 points at Milwaukee, he turned the game over to the bench players and they for the contest tallied 98 of the Nets' 113 points in a five-point loss.

That is the most bench points recorded since the NBA started keeping that stat in 1970-71 and Brooklyn covered the +9.5. Nets starters had just 15 points which are the fewest since Detroit in April 2008.

NHL

The Dallas offense was slightly above average most of the season and had gotten hot recently, scoring 24 goals in six games. Last night the Stars exploded, and they tallied 10 against Buffalo.

To say the Sabres’ defense and goaltending were a joke doesn’t tell the whole story because only one Dallas goal came on the power play. The Stars at -165 with a game total of 6.5 was easy money.

The Buzz

WWF – Betting on Wrestling

The WWE is trying to convince U.S. betting sites that bettors should be able to wager on their biggest cards. Of course, the problem with this is the winners and losers have been determined.

The WWE’s thinking is people can bet on the Oscar’s which are known by some people before they hand out the trophies. Here is the whole story.

Would you bet on this?

NCAAB – How Quickly Things Can Change

North Carolina was the preseason No. 1 after playing for the title last season. With yesterday’s loss to Virginia, it seems impossible the Tar Heels are not in the NIT. What a fall! UNC is the first preseason No. 1 to miss the NCAA Tournament since it expanded to 64 teams in 1985.

MLB – Bad Luck or Star-Crossed

With the news Carlos Rodon will start the season on the injured list after suffering a left forearm strain, that means the Yankees will begin the season with four pitchers on the IL (Nestor Cortes, Lou Trivino, and Tommy Kahnle).

If you had New York at Over 95.5 at BetOnline (visit our BetOnline Review), no time to panic, but you might make a face of uncertainty.

Top Betting System

NCAAB – Vanderbilt vs. Kentucky (-8.5)

In the last quarterfinals game of the day in the SEC, it is #6 Vanderbilt versus #3 Kentucky. In this battle, neutral court Friday teams as a favorite like the Wildcats, after going over the total by more than 24 points in their previous game, are 31-9 ATS since 2018, winning by nearly 11 PPG.

Out the Door

Golf – Aaron Wise Explodes (And Not in a Good Way)

Already at +2 Thursday, Aaron Wise was just hoping to make the cut Friday. On the 18th hole with water on the left and trees on the right, the tee shot demands some precision but is far from impossible.

Unfortunately, Wise hit three consecutive shots into the water off the tee and the fourth attempt or seventh shot went into the trees. He walked off the par 4 with a 10 and starts today at +8.

NCAAB – Super Saturday

The NCAA Tournament is so fun, but so is this Saturday, jam-packed with semi-final matchups and championships to be decided. It is one of the best days of the college hoops season IMO and hard choices are to be made for college basketball picks.
