We will just tell the truth, we are all in for college basketball and March Madness just like we are on Fridays during the football season. Enjoy.

About Last Night…

March Madness

Right out of the box, we got a two-point game with Maryland and West Virginia. That was followed by the amazing upset of No. 13 Furman over No. 4 Virginia. At least from the betting perspective, not an upset in the context of the point spread, as Furman +5.5 was the most heavily wagered underdog.

Next to go was #2 Arizona giving 15 points to #15 Princeton and losing outright. The Wildcats were considered in some circles as possible national championship candidates but they were as soft as Charim in the upset. This is three straight years for a #15 to win, the first time in tournament history.

The bad beat of the day and possibly the tournament was Charleston at +5.5 to San Diego State. Charleston had at least half a dozen shots from inside seven feet that were in and out and a late phantom foul call in the final two minutes cost them two points. And finally, a missed shot that was rebounded by the Aztecs in which a jump ball should have or could have been called and instead whistled a foul with 0.7 seconds, which had no impact on the outcome was called. San Diego State made a pair of free throws for the cover. If you had the Aztecs, that made your week.

Tennessee doesn’t look long for this tourney, hanging on to beat Louisiana 58-55 as 11.5-point favorites.

Penn State drilled Texas A&M by 17 and is now 8-0 ATS in all tournament games this season. Next up for the Nittany Lions is Texas.

NBA

Denver had lost four in a row and after three quarters was tied with lowly Detroit as 15-point road underdogs. The Nuggets were ready to experience a sixth straight against the spread loss.

What happened? Denver finally decides to play and outscores the outmanned Pistons 33-14 for a very unlikely victory against the betting odds.

The Buzz

Sports Betting

Let’s just be honest, you might find some other sports to bet on this weekend, but your mood will be determined by how you do with your college basketball picks.

MLB – Don’t Blame the WBC

It was just horrible to see the New York Mets lose closer Edwin Díaz to a torn patellar tendon Tuesday. There are those who feel this was an unnecessary injury because it probably doesn’t happen if Diaz isn’t celebrating with his teammates.

Nonetheless, it was a freak injury and anything can happen at any time, ask the Dodgers' Gavin Lux and you just have to move on.

Top Betting System

NCAAB – Florida Atlantic vs. Memphis (-1.5)

Play on neutral court teams as a favorite like Memphis after beating the spread by 48 or more points total in their last seven games, against an opponent after beating the spread by 54 or more points total in their last ten games. Teams like the Tigers are a sensational 23-3 ATS in this spot, winning by 10.9 PPG.

Out The Door

March Madness – History Lesson

March Madness

It sure seemed odd that Arizona and Virginia head coaches in their press conferences were smiling and talking about “these things happen”. Every bettor we know takes losses hard and is not philosophical about them.
