Texas State officials have informed the Sun Belt conference that they are expecting an offer from the Pac-12 in the near future, sources told ESPN.

Of course the Pac12 name will have more punch than the teams that fill it but I am exceptionally happy to see them move up from Sunbelt.

I've read a lot of C-USA will be migrating to Sunbelt after these moves.

The reformed Pac 12 might be a decent conference for Texas State to compete in since the only holdovers are Oregon State and Washington State. The teams they're picking up from the Mountain West are on Texas State's level the past few years so they should be able to compete especially since they can still recruit Texas which will help against these schools.

I hope Texas State students start supporting the team a little better. I hate going to their games when there is a decent crowd but all the students leave at half to go party. Its really disappointing.

I will note though that the tailgates at Tx St are pretty damn good so maybe the buzz wears off by halftime.

I hope they keep the UTSA vs Texas State game (I-35 Rivalry) going.

That game is nuts. Every time we've been to the game in San Marcos, Budweiser had a FREE beer "tent" in the tailgate area.
