I think this a good move and improves the Texans run game. Montgomery is in year 8 this year and Chubb in year 9. This should spread the wealth out even with Marks as the likely starter.

This puts pressure on Chubb to find a home as a FA or settle in Houston and Mixon is gone....

Montgomery still has some game left. Even though he never started a game last year, he still had 700 yards to Gibbs' 1200.

I guess Detroit is locked in on Gibbs for damn near every down.... Are they planning to draft someone or pick up a FA?

Yes the fact he had multiple years in a situation with a carries split in Detroit will likely extend his career as a productive back if he can stay healthy.

Not much depth now in Detroit at the RB position.
