Ridiculous that a pitcher can be rolling along and the opposing manager can stop the game and momentum by asking the umpires to do a search for substances

I dunno.

I get that its normal for baseball for pitchers to cheat in this way.

But if you want to stop it, they have to be reamed, and then booted from the sport if still caught. As that means they are the only ones making the manager call for checks too often. Via their own cheating.
