ML was expensive so I went RL for this game. In their last 10 wins, the Padres have won by 2+ 9 times.

Wheeler (PHI) vs Corbin (WAS). Wheeler is looking pretty good and getting better (2.84 ERA w/ a 1.42 ERA over last 30 days). Corbin not so good (6.65 ERA w/ 7.16 ERA over last 30 days).

Batting performance is a little more even over the last 10 days.
Philly bats are 0.291 avg, 0.863 OPS
Nationals are 0.275 avg, 0.761 OPS

Relief pitching is about even as well. 3.74 ERA vs 3.62 ERA

What I do like about the Phillies is they are 10-2 since Girardi was fired. The Nats are struggling. 3-7 in last 10 games.

The ML is an expensive -198. So I'm paring this with an NBA pick for a 2 team parlay.

Seeing a potential opportunity on a decent dog tonight.

Texas vs Detroit 7:10 ET

Perez (TEX) vs Briekse (DET). Perez looks like the stronger pitcher but he's had a rough start last time out. Brieske meanwhile is improving w/ 2 ER over 11 innings his last two starts.

Detroit is a much better batting team vs a lefty (Perez). They bat 0.251 avg vs 0.210 avg vs righties.
The Tigers also play much better ball at home. 16 of their 24 wins are at Comerica Park.

There is some risk with the Tigers, as their bats have been pretty quiet lately. Like most teams, they do bat much better at home. That combined with their decent batting vs lefties, the favorable odds at home, and an improving Brieske makes this a play for me.
