Some big and unexpected cuts from NFL teams today

Arizona: QB Colt McCoy

New England: Every QB except Mac Jones, and veteran run-stuffing DT Carl Davis

Houston: LB and last year's defensive team captain Christian Kirksey, and one of the games better slot CBs Desmond King

Chicago: QB PJ Walker signed earlier this year to a 2 year deal to be the Bears backup QB

Minnesota: RB Dwayne McBride who had a great preseason and was expected to be an active #2 RB

New Orleans: CB Bradley Roby coming off a great season before he was injured in week 7.

Still more blood to be shed.

They will definitely pick someone up as the back up and then they have the emergency quarterback option on the in-active roster as a 3rd string.

why would NE cut all their QB's?

Zappe and McSorly looked bad in preseason for NE. My guess is that once Colt McCoy got released by AZ Belichick figured he'd be an upgrade.

They have to sign somebody. I don't think there's any way they'd have only one QB on their roster, and McCoy seems like the sort of veteran backup that Belichick likes.

Well that didn't take long.

QBs Bailey Zappe and Malik Cunningham cleared waivers and were resigned to the Patriots practice squad. They now have the same 3 QBs they had before the cuts.

Looks like the Steelers just grabbed Desmond King after Houston cut him. If he's healthy it should be a good pick up for them.
