Ranking the teams still alive:

1. Ravens - They have been the most complete team and have the best resume, with recent wins at SF and home to MIA. They are the best team for now, and now have home field.

2. 49ers - Aside from the hiccup at home against Baltimore, these guys have been pretty solid on both sides of the ball. With 1 seed wrapped up, feels like they are the heavy favorites in the NFC.

3. Cowboys - It was tough to find a worthy third team right now, but they have the best overall argument for the time being. They are solid enough on both sides of the ball, and now have an opportunity to play some home playoff games.

4. Chiefs - Another kind of clunky performance, but their defense and having Mahomes at the helm is going to give them a chance in any playoff match-up. 3 seed is locked up, so they at least will have one home playoff game.

5. Lions - I really like how they've responded to their mid-year slump. They obviously have flaws defensively, but they have enough firepower and strength in the trenches to make a run.

6. Browns - They're still a little limited on offense, but Flacco is at least a vet who can stretch the defense a bit. I worry about them having to play away from Cleveland in the playoffs. They seem to be a much stronger team at home.

7. Dolphins - Obviously a rough showing in Baltimore, as the critics will continue to throw shade at this team. But they still are a very solid team, especially offensively, and they have a chance to secure the 2 seed -- something that would benefit them tremendously.

8. Rams - Hot team despite the poor showing in New York. They're gonna be a tough out, though I think their youth defensively may hurt them in the end.

9. Eagles - This team is really struggling down the stretch. They've regressed back to the norm, but have some experience recently at this time of year that I think gives them still a shot to make the NFC Championship Game.

10. Bills - They have a shot to get the 2 seed despite being pretty clunky for two months now. They also might miss the playoffs. I'm not sure why most consider them a Super Bowl "favorite".

11. Jaguars - They lead a group of AFC South teams that are floundering. Jacksonville is going to need their defense to step up in order to make any serious noise.

12. Steelers - Weird to see this team suddenly find life on offense with Mason Rudolph at the helm. Can they keep this up? Pretty good chance they see a Ravens team resting this weekend.

13. Texans - CJ Stroud's value clearly shown this weekend with his return. This team could be pretty exciting with him back. They will be a tough out if they get in.

14. Seahawks - Pretty disappointing performance by this group at home with a chance to solidify its playoff chances. Still a lot to like, but they have room to grow. Gonna be tough for them to get in, but we'll see.

15. Saints - Team finally showed what it's capable of when they put together a complete game. They are gonna need some luck to get in, but I think they're the best team in their division (not saying much).

16. Bucs - Right behind New Orleans, disappointing showing at home with chance to lock up division. They probably will still get in -- think they take care of Carolina.

17. Packers - Very good showing, though I'm still skeptical about this team. When they're clicking, they're dangerous. But seems like they produce too many duds to trust them. They should get in though.

18. Colts - I just can't buy into this team, no matter how hard I try. They show glimpses offensively, but Minshew it too mistake-prone and their defense is very flawed. They still have a pretty fair shot to make it -- win and in. They may because they're at home.

19. Vikings - Lots of talent on this roster, but they're pretty much dead without a quarterback. Valiant effort this year, but just not quite enough.

20. Falcons - Kind of miraculous this team is still alive. They are pretty bad lol but they aren't that far off from winning the division....somehow.
