Stormy's NFL Playoff Projection (entering Preseason edition)

Not sure if I will do rankings this year, because then we talk about too many teams that ultimately don't matter. This may be the full time substitution


Preseason starts today so now action can impact roster through injuries, etc, etc. Next edition will be after preseason wraps up


Playoff Projection entering preseason:


AFC

(7) Chargers

(3) Jaguars
(6) Ravens

(4) Dolphins
(5) Bills


NFC

(1) 49ers - bye

(2) Cowboys
(7) Seahawks

(3) Lions
(6) Rams

(4) Saints

It'll be a tough battle this year between them. I think Philly regresses a little bit. Their defense was a little more suspect than people realize

I think Cowboys edge them out for the division

Both should be playoff teams in a weaker NFC. Think the second-place team gets the 5 seed either way

Yep my Bengals went through that not long ago (hadn't won a playoff game since 1990 when they went on the run to the Super Bowl 2022)

I wasn't even alive yet

In fact, they've only won 3 road playoff games in their history (all in last 2 postseasons, and I went to one!)

Come on Stormy. I know how much you "love" them but Bills at #5 seed? Seems way too low IMO.

I am glad you included Rams in the playoffs. I think they step up this year.

Top wild card team in a tough conference. I don't think it's far-fetched

They're not a lock to win that division over the Dolphins. I think the Dolphins pull it out somehow

I think the Bills are in that chase pack in the AFC


Chiefs, Bengals

then


Bills, Dolphins, Jags, Ravens, Chargers


Those 5 teams in that chase pack are all about the same IMO

I guess that makes sense. If Dolphins win the AFC East sure, Bills #5 seed but, I don't have as much faith in the Dolphins as you do. Maybe it will change once I get a look at the Dolphins offense.

We'll see. I think it's gonna be a dogfight. Bills have some issues on defense, and think their playoff shortcomings are gonna start eating at them.

We'll see if Tua can stay healthy (big if)

I wouldn't be shocked in the least if Buffalo is the 2 seed and wins the division again. But I think it'll be tougher than that this time around.
