Sports would be nothing these days without the option to bet on them.

Remember when were young and only fans of the game?

Then it all changes.

Without the option to place wagers on games, the majority of sports are meaningless.

No way! Wagering just makes it better. Agree with Wagerallsports. It offers a different perspective and it even allows you to understand the game better. Hell if it wasn't for betting I wouldn't know about jack sh#$%^ about soccer or hockey lol. So I see it as being able to make money off something I love. Double bonus.

I'll put it this way. If I was flipping channels and came across a badminton match, I'd watch that for a bit. Ideally, I'd be able bet on that game and enjoy it a little bit more and learn something. But would probably still watch it a bit even without a wager in it, although probably not for as long lol :rofl2:

I think sportsbetting make national televise game more valuable. More people are engaged watching if they have a stake in the game.

But I do think sportsbetting unlike casino gambling is more akin to poker, where it is a skills game. If your skill is greater than the book or even less if you are slightly lower than the books, you can grind out a profit with bonus and all.

I think everything is gambling and it's all a skills/luck game, from sports/stocks/investing/real estate/games/life/love/war/etc, there's different skill/luck ratios for everything - but definitely betting makes anything more important than it was originally.

I think sports betting is bigger than sports itself, instead of it being just as big - because no matter the value sports alone is, increasing the stakes through betting only makes it bigger than whatever it was before.

Not sure it has eclipsed sports in general yet but it certainly has become a much bigger part of the sporting world as it becomes more and more mainstream. And it still has tons of growth potential to go esp in here in the U.S. as more and more states jump on board.
