Has @samsncharge99 made his pick yet?
When he makes his pick in a match like this , he sets the standard for the rest of the forum. My heart wants Sinner but he looked exhausted, cramping up, gimpy, he looked spent, I think the German takes it. However, @samsncharge99 is the expert here. We are patiently waiting for him to tell us what to play here.

Zverev leads H2H 4-2 including a 5 set win at US OPEN 2023 where Sinner won title in 2024.

Sinner won both Grand Slams on Hard courts in 2024 and of course back in finals this year. He has lost less than 10 matches in all of 2024 and undefeated to start this season.

This will be Zverev's 3rd career grand slam final. He choked a 2-0 lead against Dominic Thiem at US Open in 2020 I believe and then lost in French Open finals last year in 5 sets to Alcaraz

No matter who wins, this match will go minimum 4 sets. I can't see either player winning 3-0. Zverev has no issue playing long points, long game, long mathces. His 1 set against Djokovic today was almost 90 minutes.

Zverev's semi finals in French Open where he broke his ankle against Nadal a few years back was 3 hours long in 2nd set tiebreaker. Endurance is NOT an issue for Zverev

Ill be betting Zverev + games and maybe OVER on games. But this match is 2 days away

we have a womans final to worry about first

I see a lot of people picking Keys.

Saba on hard court right now is peak Nadal on clay.
Strong words Sammy

Not sure anyone in history of the sport has ever been peak Nadal on Clay

Sampras on grass late 90s. Fed during his Wimbledon run. Martina at Wimbledon. Chrissy at the French. Borg every surface late mid-late 70s. Ones that come to quick mind last 50 years.

I think peak Nadal Clay is better than anyone on that historic list above

Is Saba there yet?

yea it's hard to compare for sure. But we can only base current stats off current information and see what the future holds

in the last 3 years there's been 5 hard court grand slams and sabalenka has made all 5 finals winning 3/4 and the only loss coming in upset fashion losing in 3 sets to career match from Coco. If she wins this title that's 4/5 grand slam titles on hard court.

That's as dominant for any woman I can think of since Serena Williams.

So at this current moment there's a 0% chance of me betting anyone other than Sabalenka in a grand slam on hard court. She is dominant world #1 and not dropping that title anytime soon

Can’t believe I didn’t include Serena in my above list I put together real quick. Serena was more a long-term dominance, not one given surface year after year but obviously almost impossible to beat on hard for a decent stretch
