i'm sitting here thinking about all the violence in the world and at first i was like girl, your favorite sport is literally violence. but then i thought about how in martial arts, there is a bunch of respect towards your partner/opponent. they teach you discipline, respect, integrity, etc.

i personally will put my child in martial arts. i grew up in martial arts and i am grateful for the things i have learned because the knowledge has saved me in several occasions.

but not everyone thinks like me, so i wanted to see what you guys though. Should you put your kid in mma or do you think it adds to violence

If I had a kid suitable for it and it was available nearby, wouldn't be against it
now i have a question for you wager cause i feel like youre a good dad and this is something ive been thinking about, but say when it comes to your kid and sports, do you let them choose the sports they want to join? or do you put them in a sport and make them try it out before saying no? i'm at a crossroad right now

My son trained for about 4 year in taekwondo. Wish we had kept him in but the drive/drop off during rush hour became too much. Being an only child it taught him how to interact with others along with structure. He did stick with baseball though so there's many life lessons in team sports also.

I played high-impact sports for years growing up. I don’t have kids but we practically raise my gf’s grandson. Not sure I’d want him to play the same sports I did

say if you had a kid would you let them play football?
Not sure. I guess I’d have to think about it. It was just a given all the athletes played back in my day in Texas.

Just like in Friday Night Lights, we grew up going to the games and treating those guys like heroes. It was all our dreams to eventually become one.

Now so many specialize in one sport. We played everything back then.
