Coastal Carolina's 18-game winning streak has come to an end. The Chanticleers finally tasted defeat as Appalachian State kicked a field goal on the final play of the gae. This is going to be to be a tough recovery spot for CC, They were in total control early at App State, jumping out to a 14-0 lead. But from that point on the offense mostly struggled and they could get nothing going when needed in the final quarter. Fact is, the Chanticleers were very much outplayed in the game. They were outgained by 229 yards and were unable to generate any kind of ground game. So now Coastal has to find a way to regroup off a loss that pretty much ends their dream of a major bowl game. Troy is not as talented as Coastal but there are reasons to think the Trojans will be vert much in this game. First off, Troy will have extra prep time. The Trojans would also love to avenge last year's heartbreaker of a loss to Coastal. The Trojans scored twice late to take a 38-35 lead only to watch CC put together a late drive and TD with only 45 seconds left to win 42-38. Troy also has an excellent rushing defense and we just saw what can happen to the CC offense when they can't run. Coastal Carolina is a legit good team but they failed in what was their first real test of the season and I can definitely see a hangover here. Troy plus the big number is a solid call, and I'll add a small play on the money line as well.
