NASCAR Makes Change for Atlanta Cup Series Race

There will be a slight change this week when the NASCAR Cup Series hits the track at EchoPark Speedway in Atlanta.

I thought about making the Daytona 500 thread the season-long thread since we had so much interest and so many replies but we can make this the season-long thread if it’s cool.

I’ll just update the title to include that weekend’s slate of races.

February 21-22

Atlanta Motor Speedway
(EchoPark Speedway)

Another intense drafting-style track. This one is quite a bit different than the much-larger Daytona as Atlanta is a 1.5-mile layout.

Expect close, sometimes unpredictable finishes and the potential for late chaos once again.

All three series will be in action. Double-header on Saturday with the trucks (1:30 pm ET and the O’Reilley’s series 5 pm ET).

Cup race is Sunday at 3 pm ET.

Next week we will finally have some non-Speedway racing as NASCAR will head to COTA. I’ll be there on Saturday for the O’Reilley’s race.

We will try to keep this going all year for the racing fans.

Kyle Busch is the defending Trucks race Atlanta winner and always has super-low odds when he dips down into the trucks series. (Kyle Busch has 67 career trucks wins - most all-time)

KB is in trucks again this week and will definitely be favored.

Grant Enfinger once again is one of the trucks guys who traditionally fares well in drafting races.

Austin Hill will be favored once again in the O’Reilly’s Race.


Joey Logano has won the past two Cup races here.

Once again you’ll be able to find almost all the Cup odds 10/1 or better because it’s a drafting race and difficult to predict.
