Pels are hosting the Rockets tonight in the Blender. I think the Pels cover the +4.5, but it's hard to tell which squad is going to show up. We've got a strong projected lineup tonight, and Houston has been struggling. They've lost 3 straight and haven't won a road game since January. Hard to trust them covering a spread. Plus, the Pels are playing better. We've won 5 of our last 8, and Zion is healthy and dominating, recently putting up 37 against the Lakers.
So while I'll put a smaller bet down on the Pels to cover, I really like the over. I should've taken it this morning when it was 228.5, but I'm still good with the 230.
We've got 2 teams that are trending in opposite directions, and neither of them can stop anybody right now. Houston's defense has fallen apart, giving up 121.6 ppg in recent games. Pels defense is even worse, ranking near the bottom of the league while allowing 119 ppg this season. Pels just gave up 136 to the Lakeshow, and now they have to deal with the Rockets, who've already torched them in their 2 previous games this season.
Both teams are getting buckets, neither team defends, and the first two matchups this season easily cleared this number (133-113 on 12/19 and 128-111 on 12/26).
I'm rolling with the over 230.
