I always remember her as Olive Oyl in the "Popeye" movie.

Her father's name was Robert Duvall but she was not related to the actor with the same name.

Damn. I have watched THE SHINING several times.

Shelley was great in this role. But it comes with a big asterisk.

*Kubrick was a very demanding director. Shelley's scenes were particularly nerve-wracking. And Kubrick demanded perfection, so the takes were as many as 100 for a given scene!

Evidence that the movie tilted her. May have contributed to her health situation in later years.

dawg, this was a great movie. So well-crafted.

Years later THE SHINING still drums up discussion in the msg-boards. I'd argue that THE SHINING is better than virtually any modern movie.

Jack was messing around. Kubrick liked it and decided to keep it in the final cut.
