My former roommate said he went to school in Connecticut with Bob's son. He said he was the biggest prick he had ever met. He figured it was because he got special favors because of who his dad was so no one could call him out on his asshole behavior.

Newhart died from complications of several short illnesses at his home in Los Angeles, on July 18, 2024, at the age of 94

The absolute greatest deadpan comic.

RIP - 94 is a hell of a run though and stayed active for so long. Amazing when you think about how many generations saw him - comedy records in the 50’s-late shows in the 60s and the original TV show in the 70s with the 2nd in the 80s and as an encore was known for his role in Elf and then some cameos on Big Bang most recently.

Aside from Betty White - name a comic who remained active and connected with fans across generations as much. Absolute freaking legend - comics today should take notice and work to be half as good as he was.
