Rented the movie Sept 5 about 1972 Olympic terrorist attack last night

Really good movie

Saw the previews when I went to see the Dylan flick and was wondering when it was coming out

I’ve watched multiple movies and documentaries about the Munich Olympic attacks and I really enjoyed how they showed this from the prospective of the tv and production crew, led by Roone Aldridge

One thing that’s obviously striking as well as how it takes a few hours for them to put the news on TV back then

Unlike today when something like this would be on social media in seconds and tv in seconds or a few minutes

also there was only one satellite feed for all the networks to share at any given time. And Roone had to fight for his ABC time slot during the attack coverage

This event set a lot of precedent on how live/breaking events would be covered in the future

Israeli Special Forces wanted to help but Germany said no. Citing it would be against their constitution
