Ok - so I’m curious…why the need for a bump stock ?
Ammo I get - especially in certain caliber - when you can find it at semi affordable prices (compared to pre COVID) - you stock up. Non gun people understand price of food and other things went up tremendously the last few years - well your complaining about 100% increases - some ammo went up 500-1000% in 5 years ! So yea - stocking up isn’t about prepping for the next uprising - it’s about being able to afford ammo - and stocking up when it’s available for fans of some oddball stuff.
But back to the question - why the need for a bump stock ? Just because the SC said they are legal again ? How many people cared about them PRIOR to the idiot in Vegas doing what he did ? I mean it helps mimic fully auto on an AR/AK - know what else does that - making your weapon fully automatic. But you can do that yourself - doesn’t take some special tool that’s not legal to own - just takes a bit of basic knowledge.
Now that the SC has ruled - it’s going to take ALOT to overturn their decision. Even if a new law were passed tomorrow - it would be challenged and be on hold until the same court ruled it acceptable. Chance of that is slim to nil. Oh - might also be reminded who was president when that law was passed.
Maybe it’s just me - I’ve never been into buying stuff just because someone said it can’t be made anymore or not been sold. Just plain stupid to me to buy something for 10x what it sold for “pre ban” - because they can’t make anymore of something no one wanted when they made it. Imagine they came out tomorrow and said a Ford C-Max was illegal to own - so car collectors ran out and began buying them up at huge markups…if it’s a piece of shit - it’s a piece of shit. Artificial price increases just make it a worse buy.
I’m a “collector” - I buy what I like and what I view as the best made example at the best price I can afford though - so I guess I’m not the target audience.
I own guns - including several lever actions - doubt I ever need one to go hunt the biggest game North America has to offer - worthless as home protection - but hey they are fun to shoot and the most reliable weapons produced - especially modern examples. Next on my list is a M1 - again ultra reliable, ammo is semi cheap and available - as well as being a great rifle to work on marksmanship with. Gun people are a strange lot - so many seem to get into the hobby not for enjoyment - but to say they own something they feel someone else is trying to take away their right to own. I just don’t get it - why focus specifically on ONE right - there are 9 others that you should be paying attention too - starting with the FIRST one.
