The Rams have agreed to trade star cornerback Jalen Ramsey to the Dolphins for a 2023 third-round pick and tight end Hunter Long, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Ramsey was no problem during his time with the Rams. He had 1 very minor spat with Rapp who under performing at S. I thought the Rams would receive a little more trade compensation than they got. The Dolphins gave Ramsey a little more money and guaranteed the 2nd year so Ramsey was probably worth a bit less in trade. The Dolphins got the best of the trade but all parties got what they wanted.
He still has plenty left. The Rams have cap issues and were planning to start 4 nobodies in the secondary with him. Spending $17M on 1 player when all it would do is move opposing passes to other targets would have been a waste.

Maybe not scary but the Dolphins are certainly making some positive moves. I was down on Tagovailoa after 2021 and although he had a much better 2022 there are still questions. Their receivers made all 3 QBs look better than they really were. If he can stay healthy in 2023 their potent offense should get much better defensive support. Nice looking future for Dolphins fans.
