I remember the 80s. Golden days of the Big East. He had some great teams back in the day

Were you a recruit in that area?

Only by a couple of low low-tier northeast schools. Played in the CHSAA, which is the Catholic High School Athletic Association. The top players get recruited by the Big East, especially back then. Unfortunately, I was not top tier. Or mid tier…

Always makes me wonder why some schools around NYC just aren’t bigger basketball programs than what they are. Obviously money buys talent - but the ability to play close to home, in the biggest market in the nation and in front of every imaginable media outlet - some kids don’t understand that a quick $ to go to Kentucky or Kanas does not compare to the level of exposure you could get carrying a team to a championship with NYC media covering your story.
