Question about senate races

Dems surprisingly retain control with 50 seats now clinched and only still Georgia up for grabs.

They are now calling Nevada for Cortez Mastro. She has 48.7% and her foe Lazalt now has 48.2% and trails by 5k with 96 percent reporting.

why isn’t there a runoff in Nevada since no one will likely get to 50% just like Georgia??

Each state sets the criteria for how their elections are decided. Georgia has run off, I know they used to have some sort of electoral college type-ish thing that swayed elctions towards the rural vote that got struck down by court systems, to they adopted this current system.

Nevada doesn't require a 50% threshold. Louisiana really the only other state that could have run offs.

Whereas if no one gains 50% the 3rd party is droped and the #2vote on 3rd party tickets decides the winner

The NV is odd because a Libertarian ran, got 5% of the vote, yet dropped out whilst his name remained on the ticket....similar to GA, but NV has no runoff.

Based on 3rd party GA votes (80,000) Walker SHOULD win that seat, but again, as STALIN said, it doesn't matter who votes, it only matters who counts the votes!

Why would you think Walker should win based on 3rd party vote? Those voter are not coming out for him and walker doesn’t have kemp dragging him along. Republicans have zero motivation to vote here.
