2 days before the start of the World Cup, Qatar changed its stance and will no longer allow beer sales around the stadiums. As part of their FIFA bid for the WC, they had agreed to allow sales outside the stadiums (like tailgating) but not in the venues. Now, that will not be allowed.
Only sales after 7 PM at FIFA Fan Festival, other fan destinations and licensed venues, [thereby] removing sales points of beer from Qatar’s FIFA World Cup 2022 stadium perimeters.
