I have a good friend I grew up with that wants to bet 100k or more on the election and asked me to place it for him. I do not even know if I could get that # down at Pinnacle or not or at a combination at books I play at, nonetheless, I would not be on the hook for it. He knows I bet offshore, he doesn't and he is not into gambling but , i will not place it for him just due for the fact anything can happen, I do not want a problem getting stiffed by the book or any sort of issue..He asked me is he able to place it in Vegas or at a regulated book? I have not found any information on this, is he able to? Can someone chime in here? I would like to point him in the right direction at a legal book in the US. I am leaving soon and would like to steer him in the right direction, at a legit place where he can do this. I want no part of it but want to help him. He will not do it offshore because I let him know anything can happen offshore. it must be done in Vegas or at a legit book in the US where he won't have a "potential" issue. Your help is appreciated.

You can not bet on the presidential election in the United States.

The CFTC (Commodity Futures Trading Commission) says it's against the public interest and firms like Predictit (which is based in New Zealand) are trying to fight this.

I don't think you will be able to bet on the election at a US book at all.

Tell him to open a BOL and/or BM account and fire away.
No way, there is risk there, he does not bet sports let alone likes them. He just knows I bet, and knows about it but I am not gonna have him deposit $ and then get stiffed or some shady shit they could try to pull. I need it done at a legit book he can do it with but I guess that is not going to happen. He is talking about 100k-150k but I guess I have to tell him it is not going to happen. Thanks for the input Kvbster!

As kvb said, BM and BOL.

BM takes $47k on who will win and you can keep popping it.(28k on election Yes or No props)

Licensed US books are prohibited by law from booking elections. Your other option is find someone with euro books or fly over there.

Best chance likely to contact a shop in the UK for something like that with a new bettor.

Would Pinnacle accept the wager - likely. BetOnline - probably as would Bookmaker. Between the 3 of them you’re likely to be able to get down 100k - possibly 150k.

It’s still a “novelty” bet to most places though - takes a lot of $50-100 Trump bettors for example to offset one huge Harris wager though.

Another thought may be simply playing ETF of sectors likely to benefit from one side winning - I/E Defense with Trump or Healthcare with Harris. Of course it’s not a direct play - but using options you can leverage up quite a bit.

I have Euro books, I guess my point was not conveyed , haha. I am not betting it for someone or doing it for him, i want him to be able to do it with a US legal book but I guess that is not going to work, oh well.

You are on the hook for both state and fed taxes with ANY licensed book including the UK. Keep that in mind.

If I was going to bet Kamala I would wait. Trump is a proven closer. He closed 5 points in both of the last two elections in the last 6 weeks.

If I was going to play Trump I would do a NO prop bet on Kamala, currently +102.(in case something happens to Trump)

He doesn’t care about the tax part. Just wants it done right and I’m not doing it for him. I’m a trump guy and told him it’s a bad bet. Im
Having breakfast with him now and he just said he would do 200-300k if it was done in Vegas or a legit place in America but it’s not gonna happen. Oh well.

At +335 I'm nibbling on the popular vote. She will probably cash the pop vote ticket but those odds are just too good to take a shot.

Wow -420.
They were in the -200s a couple weeks ago and even lower right after Biden dropped out.
