Protest planned in Owensboro to combat President’s “broken promise” on grocery prices
The group says they will meet from 11:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. along Frederica Street in front of Wesleyan Park Plaza for the peaceful protest.
OWENSBORO, Ky. (WFIE) - A group of concerned citizens is expected to protest against President Trump in Owensboro on Saturday.
The group says they will meet from 11:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. along Frederica Street in front of Wesleyan Park Plaza for the peaceful protest.
Officials say they aim to highlight the impact of the president’s actions on the cost of living for everyday Americans.
Spokesman Tyler Sagadoy says, “President Trump campaigned on a promise to lower grocery prices, a promise that resonated deeply with many in Daviess County, [and] after he won, he quickly reneged on his promise. Furthermore, his actions since coming into office will continue to raise prices, not lower them.”
Organizers encourage residents to attend and join them in solidarity.
