Oh yes. I was lucky enough to see Afleet Alex live twice. He pulled an amazing comeback as at Saratoga once, also. As a 2-year old. Looked hopelessly beaten mid-stretch, turned on another gear.

Absolutely. As athletic a move as you will see. Jeremy was incredible that day.
He is such a good guy. You would all really like him.

PS- Saez blew that race yesterday on that 9, in my opinion. The rail in deep stretch proved to be tiring a few times over the two-day event. Some jockeys pay attention to track bias more than others.

Didn’t cost me but cost my buddy $2300

That was some race. I lost power so I watched it on my phone. Only thing I saved the battery for.

It was terrible. 33.40 for a 2.00 exacta.
The other way and the win bet on the 9 horse would have been a nice hit.
The horse was 19 or 20-1 all day and dropped to 14-1 with one minute to post.
The friggen syndicates. They play for rebates and odds edges. All computer and algorithm stuff. Management is involved with it and in my mind the typical players get screwed regularly.
Greed. Plain and simple.

I loved Afleet Alex. He should have won the triple crown

I’m sure @EmpireMaker remembers him too. Couple of years after the Funny Cide-EmpireMaker duel

Good horse - but the state of racing these days ensures little chance of a triple crown and even when one does happen- it will be with an asterisk as the best horses are held out at least one of the 3 races.

They should change things - KY Derby 1st Sat of May, Preakness Memorial Day Saturday and Belmont July 4th Saturday.

Put in some incentives awarding points to top 5 finishers and award $2 million to top 3 or 4 in points with a million to first.
