I like this hire even though he wasn't my first choice to take over. I am old enough to remember Pope as a player on our 96 championship team. He is arguably the smartest player we ever had and he plays a style similar to Pitino so I think he'll recruit much better at Kentucky with better resources than what he had at BYU. The fans will come around even though right now this seems like a desperate hire because I think he will win and that is all we care about at Kentucky.

Reed Sheppard might stay since his dad roomed with Mark Pope at UK. That will be a win right there and he is going to get players from the portal and BYU to follow him to UK. It'll be tough next year but I'm confident he'll get rolling at UK maybe as soon as year 2.

This Kentucky fan isn't crying. I absolutely love this hire and when we start winning again Kentucky fans will come around. I think he wins at UK with superior resources and less limitations than he faced at BYU. I'm excited for next season and can't wait to see what our team looks like next year.

Thought Travis Ford was going to be a big-time coach after what he did at EKY, UMASS, and Ok St.Kind of fell apart for him at St Louis. Hard to win there.
