For real..
Great intervention, but also, who's gonna pay for the tow truck? The cops?
They destroyed it didn't they?
So, we’ve got some good news and bad news.
Good news! We recovered your car!
Bad news - remember how you used to have 4 wheels…..
It's been out for a while now @Tanko Phoenix PD was the first to use it in 2019. Soon after the Colorado State Patrol has been using it since 2021.
I saw them use it one time. Stopped them dead in their tracks man. @PimikeIt’s not getting much love
Trying to cut down on chases and the surprise element of still being able to track suspects vehicle. If they can get it on vehicleThey are now using GPS tracking darts. Once they fire this into the vehicle it sticks and tells the cops where the vehicle is through GPS.
They just probably didn't want to deal with itI had my truck stolen by a patient from a mental hospital. He broke out of the place.
It ran out of gas 200 miles away and I had to go get it myself.
They caught the guy and said, "No charges." He's mentally incompetent.
He's smart enough to break out of the institution, steal a truck, and drive 200 miles without an accident but, not smart enough to be charged..... WTF?????

I just watched the whole video. They cost $20,000 each but this one police force is getting 7 of them.Trying to cut down on chases and the surprise element of still being able to track suspects vehicle. If they can get it on vehicle
@quantumleap Fixing a police grappler after use primarily involves replacing the spent net, which costs approximately $400 to $600 per net. The Grappler system itself (including installation and training) is a significant initial cost, often ranging from $5,000 to $8,000 per unit. While the device's mechanical components are generally durable, the nylon net is a consumable item that requires replacement after each deployment to be effective for the next use.I just watched the whole video. I'm guessing they are refillable after using. I wonder how much it costs to refurbish it once it's been used.
