The team was regressing and he had the best rookie in Michkov and wasted him for a whole season so hockey wise, it was the correct move. That being said, Tortorella is Italian and I never want to see another Italian leave.

Click to expand... Very astute observation, Genie. I'm impressed. Indeed it is but the season is gone now, so no point in prolonging the inevitable. He was going to go, either way. I can now only hope they lose every game y til the season ends because it's now all about draft position.

Does a lot for the community and genuinely down to earth as a coach - really enjoyed when he was with the CBJ. He’s been around forever - he will find another opportunity soon enough.
