except men's college basketball it seems lately and I am clueless on this sport. Can anybody point me to some sites or info so I can do some research on this? Time to expand here it seems. Thanks.

Kenpom.com has some great info but most of it is behind a paywall $25/yr.
haslametrics.com has a ton of free information. The best stuff is at the bottom of the home page. They list each game with est scores. Click the P next to the scores to see details on a specific matchup.
Barttorvik.com similar to kenpom except its free. Under the FUNALYTICS menu at the top select upcoming games for a list of games. Once there, click on a game listed under the T-rank Line header and you see all kinds of matchup info.
